Givehood: your data and account

This page explains how to delete or remove personal data in the Givehood mobile app. You can remove many things yourself while keeping your account, or permanently delete your entire account.

Delete some of your data without deleting your account

If you want to keep using Givehood but remove specific information, use the steps below or email us.

In the Givehood app

Listings you posted: Open the listing → edit → use Remove listing (or equivalent). The listing is removed from Discover; related images are no longer shown publicly as an active listing.
Saved items: Open your saved list and remove items you no longer want stored.
Profile details: Go to Profile → Personal information (or similar) to update or clear name, bio, avatar, and other fields you control.

Email Givehood support

To ask us to delete specific categories of data while keeping your account, email support@givehood.com from the address on your Givehood account. Describe what you want removed (for example: certain messages, a listing that cannot be edited in-app, or other data tied to your profile). We aim to respond within 5 business days and complete verified requests within a reasonable time, subject to legal and safety retention described below.

What is removed vs kept (partial requests)

Removed or updated When you use the in-app steps above: the listings, favorites, or profile fields you delete or clear, as implemented in the product.
May be kept For a period where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, trust and safety (for example abuse reports or dispute records), or as described in our Privacy Policy . Some records may be retained in anonymized form.

Permanently delete your entire Givehood account

This removes your profile, listings, favorites, conversations, and most data tied to your account in active systems.

From the app

Open the Givehood app.
Go to the Profile tab.
Open Account security, then tap Delete account.
When prompted, type DELETE to confirm. Your account is removed immediately.

Cannot use the app?

To close your account by email, contact support@givehood.com from the address tied to your account. Include the phrase “Please delete my account” in the subject or body. We respond within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days after we confirm your identity.

What is deleted when you delete your account

Your profile (name, avatar, bio, contact info)
Your listings and listing photos
Your conversations and messages
Your saved items
Your reputation, badges, and activity history
Push notification tokens registered to your account

What may be retained after account deletion

We may keep a minimal record of completed transactions and abuse reports for as long as the law requires and to keep the community safe (often up to 90 days , in anonymized form where applicable). See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

Important

Full account deletion is permanent. Your listings, messages, and reviews cannot be restored. To use Givehood again, you will need a new account.
